Dani enjoys sharing her experiences and love for the underwater world with everyone she meets.

Butch is a PADI Scuba Diving Instructor passionate about exploring and learning about the underwater world. He is fascinated about observing marine life and their behavior in their natural habitat.
As a fisherman, that is something that always triggered his curiosity. He also loves capturing his underwater encounters with photography and videography.

Taryn is a Mermaid Instructor, Divemaster, and DSD Leader with a lifelong passion for Florida’s freshwater springs, where her mermaid dreams first began. Now based in Pennsylvania, she continues to share her love for mermaids and the underwater world in her local waters.
Whether she’s teaching mermaid courses or guiding divers, Taryn lives for that “ah-ha” moment—when skills click into place and a true appreciation for the water begins to bloom.

Our Story
Hi, we're Daniela and Edward Sutter — but our friends (and dive buddies!) call us Dani and Butch.
We’re both certified PADI Scuba Diving Instructors affiliated with Atlantis Aquatics, a local dive center based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, just minutes from our primary training site at Lake Hydra.
Our scuba journey began in 2018 when we became certified as PADI Open Water Divers. From the very first dive, we were hooked — drawn in by a shared curiosity and deep fascination with the underwater world. That passion quickly grew into a lifelong commitment.
Since then, we’ve expanded our skills and knowledge, eventually taking the plunge to become instructors. Now, we’re proud to share that passion with our students and clients, helping others discover the incredible experience of exploring beneath the surface.

Dani was born and raised in Brazil, just a few blocks from the beach. From a very young age, the ocean was her hideaway , a place of peace and wonder. But even then, she was always curious about what lay beneath the surface.
Butch grew up in New Jersey and has been a fisherman for as long as he can remember. He shared the same curiosity for the ocean, always intrigued by the mysterious world underwater and the behavior of marine life.
One day, while on a relaxing vacation in Cozumel, Butch went snorkeling and spotted the most beautiful, colorful lobster peacefully resting on the ocean floor. As a fisherman, he was thrilled to witness this amazing creature in its natural habitat. But he felt frustrated that he couldn’t stay underwater longer, constantly needing to surface for air.
Determined to dive deeper — both literally and figuratively — he enrolled in a PADI Open Water Diver course once he returned home. Dani was quick to dive into this new adventure alongside him.
Fast forward a few years: Butch and Dani now share a deep passion for diving. Whether it's for fun, training, or travel, they’re always exploring, learning, and connecting with the underwater world. Their love for the ocean has inspired them to protect it and to share their passion and knowledge with others , one dive at a time.

Taryn is a certified PADI Divemaster, Mermaid Instructor, and the founder of Verda Sirens. Her love for the underwater world began in childhood, spending countless hours snorkeling in the crystal-clear freshwater springs of Florida, dreaming of becoming a mermaid. Today, that dream is a reality.
Based in Pennsylvania, Taryn now shares her passion and expertise with students, empowering them to connect with the water through scuba diving and mermaiding in local lakes and quarries.
