Peak Performance Buoyancy

Minimum Age: 10 years old

 

Determine how much weight you need and where to place trim weights to streamline your body position. During two dives you’ll fine-tune your weighting during buoyancy checks and master neutral buoyancy with in water practice.

Enriched Air Nitrox

Minimum Age: 12 years old

After finishing your independent study, you'll learn how to analyze your cylinder, complete an enriched air log, set your dive computer for nitrox and more.

Underwater Navigator

Minimum Age: 10 years old

 

Practice using a compass on the surface, then apply your skills underwater during three dives. Learn how to properly use a compass, estimate distance, use natural references.

Search and Recovery

Minimum Age: 12 years old

 

During four dives, you'll locate objects large and small using different search patterns. You’ll get hands-on experience using a lift bag and, on the last dive, you’ll plan and execute a mock search operation.

Dry Suit Diver

Minimum Age: 10 years old

 

You'll practice taking your drysuit on and off, determine how much weight you need, and master basic drysuit skills in a confined environment before your two open water dives.

Full Face Mask Diver

Minimum Age: 12 years old

 

There are several different types of full face masks, so you begin learning about varying mask features and components. Next, you learn techniques for preparing and diving with a full face mask as well as proper maintenance. During a confined water dive, you get comfortable using your mask and practice skills in preparation for your open water dives. In open water, during two dives, you'll demonstrate your ability to:

  • Properly prepare and check your mask for the dive.

  • Make adjustments underwater and clear water out of the mask.

  • Respond to simulated out-of-gas emergency situations.

Academic: 1-2 hours

Diver Propulsion Vehicle
(DPV)

Minimum Age: 12 years old

 

During two exhilarating dives, you’ll practice DPV maneuvers and tandem riding. Learn how to avoid problems like ascending/descending too fast, motor entanglements, losing track of your buddy and running out of battery power.

Wreck Diver

Minimum Age: 15 years

 

You'll make two dives from a boat where you’ll practice entering and exiting the water and properly stowing your gear. Your instructor will also teach you about local boat diving etiquette and safety procedures.

Boat Diver

Minimum Age: 10 years

Night Diver

Minimum Age: 12 years

 

The thought of dipping below the surface at night seems mysterious, yet so alluring.

Although you've been scuba diving at a site many times before, at night you drop into a whole new world and watch it come to life under the glow of your dive light. The scene changes as day creatures retire and nocturnal organisms emerge.

Equipment Specialist

Minimum Age: 10 years

 

Get hands-on experience making minor equipment repairs and learn about different types of dive gear.

Learn how to properly clean and maintain gear, and how to create a save-a-dive kit.
